So. Today is still kind of an “eh” kind of day. Maybe someone who is feeling the same way can call me aand we could talk about it.
Today is sort of a “blah” kind of day. I am 25% of the way through my little project here and it feels sorta anti-climatic. it is cold today (after a week of nice weather) and the forecast isn’t looking any better for the next 10 days or so. I am trying a sort-of fauxhawk hair style. Yes I am styling my hair (collective gasp inserted here). It looks cool and people seem to like it.
American Idol kinda sucked this week. My USA shows were good. Chuck is back on Monday (!!!!). Human Target and Bones are back next week (I think or it’s the week after next).
I feel like dancing in the rain if we had any today, but we don’t. Chinese water torture doesn’t sound too bad right about now. That’s how bored I am. Then at least there would be someone in the same room as me.
#1 The Godfather Trilogy

Yes. The Ultimate Guy Movie.
I love the Godfather trilogy and could do a Godfather marathon every weekend if I could. It is the classic story of the rise and fall of the mafia in America. It tells of love and love lost. Of murder and mayhem.
Who doesn’t love these movies? I challenge anyone who has seen them all (all the way through) to say that they don’t rank in the top 20 or so personally.
#2 The Great Escape

Steve McQueen, Richard Attenborough, Donald Pleasence, Charlie Bronson, and James Garner all trying to escape from a Nazi POW camp in World War II Germany. How is this movie not awesome?! Bronson plays Danny the “Tunnel King”. McQueen plays Hilts the “Cooler King”. Pleasence plays Blythe the “Forger”. Attenborough plays Bartlett “Big X (The Leader)”. Garner plays Hendley the “Scrounger,” the guy who when he gets something and you ask where he got it, he replies, “Don’t ask.”
This is my favorite ensemble movie of all-time. All the actors are stars and they act like it. My favorite scene is the 4th of July celebration where the Americans in the camp have taken all of the potatoes and made moonshine to show the other prisoners how to celebrate an American holiday. Fun fact: Towards the end of the movie when McQueen is being chased on a motorcycle by a Nazi soldier, the soldier is being played by McQueen too.
#3 The Matrix

I could watch this movie every day for the rest of my life. It is the perfect Sci-Fi movie. It has the whole “we are under a control” element, the hero who rescues us after reconizing his true potential, and it has really good bad guys (Agents). If you haven’t seen this movie put it on your netflix queue, rent it, or buy it.
#4 The Original Star Wars Trilogy (4-6)

Yes. I know. This isn’t one movie, but a wise person told me to condense some movies that are in a series and make them one pick. Now, i love the original Star Wars trilogy and everything about them. I even have played the games related to these movies. They eclipse the new trilogy in every way and IMO the new trilogy shouldn’t even be a part of any true Star Wars fans’ list when mentioning the saga.,
#5 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

This should be no surprise to those who really know me. As a kid, I loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! I had the toys and we went to Disney when they were there. I got my cousin hooked on TMNT toys too. This is a good movie to this day. The turtles were a staple of my childhood and that is why they are #5.
OK, so my top 10 lists caused some controversy yesterday. Good. Now I have decided to just reveal my top 10 movies of all-time. We will do 10-6 today and 5-1 will each have their own post. Here’s how it will go. I’ll reveal the pick and tell you why it is where it is on the list.
#10 Bullit

This movie has all the makings of a classic Steve McQueen adventure. Guns, babes, fast cars, car chases (the best ever is in this movie), and double-crosses. Also, Robert Duvall makes an early appearance as a cab driver.
#9 Pulp Fiction

Quentin Tarantino’s second film and arguably his best. It revived John Travolta’s career and catapulted Samuel L. Jackson’s. It is a movie I could watch once a week for the rest of my life and never get tired of seeing it. The all-star cast is awesome. Plus: What was in the case??
#8 Breakfast At Tiffany’s

This is my favorite Audrey Hepburn movie. Roman Holiday is a close second. This one is a story of love, love lost, and love found (again!). The story is classic and it has an ending that only celluloid could deliver.
#7 Casblanca

My favorite classic film. It is one of those movies where everything comes together. The writing, the cast, and the direction work together in perfect harmony to create a movie about heartbreak, true love, Nazis, and good people in a bad time. “If it’s December 1941 in Casablanca, what time is it in New York?” “Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine.” “Here’s looking at you kid.” All of them (and more) are classic quotes that we can all apply to our lives today, even though they were written in 1942.
#6 Wall-E
This is Pixar’s 9th movie and their best (IMO). It is the story of a little robot who is left behind after all the humans have left Earth or have died. The first word is spoken almost an hour into the film and yet I found myself not missing people talking because I was engrossed in the life of this little robot. Now why s this #6 and not #10. Well, I love this movie more than any of those. Pixar creates the best animated movies of today and this is their best. Kids and adults alike love this movie. I dare you to tell me you don’t.
Tomorrow #5 will be revealed……

Those of you who really know me know that I love movies. I have decided to do some lists.
Top 10 (in no particular order) Movies that were released before 1990:
Bullit, Casablanca, The Godfather, The Godfather II, The Flying Tigers, The Great Escape, Back to the Future, Goldfinger, Star Wars (4-6), and WarGames
Top 10 Movies released after 1990:

As you see on each list, I like a wide variety of movies. Comedies, Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Drama, Animated, RomCom. I like them all. I don’t like every movie in those categories, but I like all the categories. What are some of your favorite movies of all time?
